How to turn $157.25 into a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle thenavarro's journey, June 10 + pair of Michael

I watched with interest Elemenepeo's run toward the 52 Mantle, and I also saw thunderdan's beautiful Mantle that he purchased and recently posted. I have decided that I will add a 52 Mantle to my collection, and while seeing Sportscardtheory's quest for a T206 Wagner begin, I thought that would be a fun way to go for the Mantle and would make adding it a little bit extra special for me.
If you are tired of these types of threads, then read no further, this isn't the thread for you and I don't want to waste your board enjoyment time.
I pretty much have no rules for mine. It's going to be a series of buy/sell transactions and might even trade if need be. I am sure there are times where I might take a step backward as unlike sportscardtheory, I don't make money on every transaction, sometimes I make bad decisions and have to cut the losses and move on. I am going to start with an investment of $157.25 and work that up to a 1952 Mantle. I don't have a time limit and don't have parameter's yet for the Mantle, although I would love to be able to get a signed 1952 Topps Mantle. The couple signed Mantle's that I've seen have been in the neighborhood of $15,000-$18,000. However, I would be satisfied with a decent looking low grade Mantle which should be able to find for around $5,000.
As my initial investment, I bought something that I'm comfortable with and know the market well.

Total cost $157.25
I buy these books and make souvenir typescripts out of them (much like the way custom card guys make custom autographed pieces). Nixon would not sign copies of his resignation letter during his lifetime, so the only ways to get souvenir copies of them, is to make them after he signed the blank page.

The Constitution (Article 2, Section 1) specifies that if the President resigns, the office of President devolves on the Vice President. The 25th Amendment states that in case of resignation, the Vice President “shall become President.”
The mechanisms for a Presidential resignation are as follows: The President signs a letter, addressed to the secretary of state, specifying the time at which resignation from the office becomes effective. The Vice President is notified by the secretary of state and takes the oath of office at the designated time.
On the morning of August 9, 1974, the day following President Nixon's televised resignation speech, White House Chief of Staff Alexander Haig presented this letter to President Nixon to sign. The President's resignation letter is addressed to the Secretary of State, in keeping with a law passed by Congress in 1792. The letter became effective when Secretary of State Henry Kissinger initialed it at 11:35 a.m.

Yikes, the fees are eating me up already. Oh well, they are a necessary evil. I bought another small item already to flip, but I'm headed to take a shower, so I'll be back later with it.
This will be a slow process I'm sure, so don't expect a wild sprint. My main focus is still going to be my signed rookie card collection.

If I transfer a good part of my collection into a Mantle or maybe a high grade Aaron Rookie (one of the few undervalued cards IMHO), I will have a ton more fun re obtaining what I sold off if it so interests my son or possibly go in another direction entirely.

Good price on the Nixon book.
"Real Peace" is definitely worth reading before you flip it.
Fast and easy read; not complex and many/most of the
concepts apply today, though in somewhat different ways.
It's been a bit since I read it, but it was really good.
