AT Commemorative?

This two sides rainbow confetti toning makes me suspicious. AT right?

Yes, weird color progression and lots of purple, maybe baked in a potato, but clearly AT and not something that would fool most collectors

AT.....interesting effect...possibly the potato method... there are others... could also be AT over a poor rinse after dipping... Cheers, RickO

Possibly is AT, but I have seen similar toning on coins that were in Whitman folders for a long time, so I am keeping open to the possibility of NT.

If it was so wonderful, why isn't it in a creditable holder to maximize bidding?

    I lean toward AT.

The way the toning is "crackled" makes me say Questionable Color. Whenever I first started sending coins with this type toning to PCGS, they came back Questionable color. I would avoid it.

I don't care if it's AT or NT, it's ugly. All of those white spots say AT to me.

    NT.
I think it's gonna be unattractive in hand and that in the pic it's not that nice.

Regardless its doing well as CW trends for MS65 $300 and this raw coin. I do wonder why its not in a TPG holder......looks like a raging bid war - hurry and bid before its gone?

His 1921 PCGS CAC Pilgrim priced at $400 BIN / Make Offer, CW = $300. Perhaps you might want make offer.....

  • Color progression is natural. It does have elevation chromatics. But the crackly toning is not a good sign. There was someone ATing Commems back in the early 90's, I believe it was, and they possessed a "crackle" effect like the toning seen here. Seems NT at first and would fool some people for sure. The person was a very good "coin" artist.

    Classic warning signs everywhere here.

    -Bidders identities "private".

-Has a bunch of other graded coins he has sold. Why is this one not graded?

I won the coin and have it in hand now. It looks NT to me.

I'm going to submit it to PCGS next week and will report back here when the grade pops.

FWIW, I was bidding on this coin before the OP made his post.
