I've always thought that Liberty looked happier on the 1801 half dollar than on most other draped bust coins, with just a hint of a Mona Lisa smile apparent
Celtic coin from Germania, 1st century BC. "Little Dancing Manniken". He looks happy but I'm not sure why since he's being bitten on the nose by a snake.
Little Dancing Man's horse doesn't have such a happy story though:
