Re: Fort Washington
BobS, Seriously, I did pick up about 40 1972 FB high #'s which will fit very nicely in my nm-mint raw set. The entire set will eventually be graded, I'm expecting mostly 8's with 7's and 9's also. If you come across any doubles of the cards listed below LMK, 1 1971 RUSHING LEADERS 19 FRED HOAGLIN 20 CARL ELLER 37 RON… -

Re: Hansen watch.
Two Ends of the Spectrum I was looking at some of the recent updates to "The Collection". I noticed that Hansen have added several new additions to his Large Cents Die Variety Set by Newcomb, Circulation Strikes (1816-1839). This is a specialty set with 244 coins that is one end of the collection spectrum. On the other… -

Re: Definition of "overrated"?
<< <i>PS. Had Ichiro arrived FIVE years earlier, he would have had Griffey in CF, Buhner in RF, and Martinez at DH. His job would be pinch hitter/pinch runner/reserve for FIVE years until Buhner lost it about the time Iricho arrived. There is your most likely scenario!! He ends up starting full-time in MLB about the same… -
Re: Is there a better rookie crop than from 1987?
Fun thread. Here are some other years where there were some pretty good rookies. Re: Will Pete Rose ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame? * POLL *
IMO, He was one of the greatest players ever to play the game, but he broke a cardinal rule (or in this case a red's rule) so NO, he should never be allowed in the Hall. As for Bagwell, I beleive he will make it this year for a couple of reasons. #1) As many of you pointed out, there is no real proof he used, but there is… -
Re: What's wrong with this gold ingot?
I am no expert on these, but I don't like the look of it. It looks like it was "antiqued" with the dings & dents prior to the stamping as several dents appear older than the punches. Fred Holabird of Holabird-Kagin Americana (as mentioned) would be someone to talk to. During the Mints and Mines tour he led to Carson City,…
