Re: Red Sox Leading For Santana?

<< <i> Coughing up Hughes and Caberra is a hefty price to pay, though (in addition to the $25 mil per year for a pitcher). >> Suuuure it is. During the stretch run this year when the Yanks were playing well I read so many comments from Sox fans and Yankee haters alike about how Hughes had done nothing yet to be considered… -
Re: Dick Osburn seated halves now sold at Rarities Night - and 4 of mine as well -
There are the right seated halves and the wrong ones. One of the right ones was the 1855 PCGS MS66 cac finest known to date. That coin first surfaced out of Pryor in 1996 for $9500 or so. It then appeared at Goldberg's in June 2002 for $14,000+ where I bought it (an ogh 65 at the time that I upgraded). I felt the coin was… -
Re: share your images that have been stacked!!!
I'll see if I can translate (I think what's written here is very good, though I come with a photography background). When you take a picture, some amount of the detail in the picture will be sharp based on the settings used to take the picture (specifically the lens aperture--how much light is getting into the camera) and… -
Re: Advice on Coin Show Setup

~TwoSides2aTable~ edit to add : I'm a novice at coin shows, having worked my first one this year. It was the 49th Annual Omaha Coin show. It was quite bustling with people. Without much of an inventory and no prices listed on anything, I set out to tackle my 'stage fright' , and pop my proverbial cherry, as it were. As day… -
MS65 in 1986 oh boy...
From the Miami Herald. Who thinks this is going to have a happy ending? Q: In 1986, at the suggestion of my financial advisor, I purchased $5,000 worth of coins from a company called Asset Services in West Des Moines, Iowa. Now that I'm retired, I could put this money to better use. I would like to sell these coins but… -

Tough Jefferson and a Link.

.........and so I was looking around on eBay the other day and came across this bugger and decided I had better "watch" it. Then I thought I'd tip others to it. I was struck by the fact that the latest PCGS pop report has it listed at only 18 in PR69DCAM which makes it more elusive than the 1969 in that grade. If I'm not… -
The Poorest Known 1848 CAL $2.50 Gold Piece
I was going though some old slides the other day when I came across this picture of a coin that a dealer loaned to me to photograph many years ago. I’m sorry for the quality of the photo, but the only thing I have is a slide, and the only way I could transpose it here was to take a picture of a reflection on the wall. The…
