link to the closing price Whew - $825 for who knows what - most probably a bunch of EXMT cards - worth something but not even close to $825. Of course the buyer gave the scammer positive feedback because he believes it's a factory sealed set and probably did not open it. -

I don't the greed factor has really changed or that sellers now are any more or less greedy than before. The differences are that there's a lot more uninformed money in the marketplace now, there's always someone willing to part them from their money and it's become easier for scammers to thrive. -

Looks like the seller had his ebay account compromised. A scammer uses a legit seller's account for a scam auction, collects the loot and disappears. The account owner must have caught on in order to revise the auction, but who knows why he just didn't cancel it. -

Just found the original source of his 16-D picture as well. Item number: 150043677241 Here is the link: stolen 1916-D pic I'm not trying to be a coin cop, but it is fun to spend 15 minutes on this hunt and wipe out an entire afternoon of work by this scammer. -

I don't think it's necessary to block people unless they shows signs of being an outright scammer. Who cares if they lowball you, etc... they could be the bid that drives your next auction up. Maybe I'm too forgiving. -

Here is a piece of advice you can take to the bank. If the pictures are shot at any angle other than 90 degrees, PASS. All the scammers seem to shot "oval shaped" coins when they post pictures to distort the details. -

Re: Facebook and coins
Facebook is so FAKE and filled with novices and scammers. I am rarely on it----maybe twice a week. I talk to my real friends on the phone, in person or through texting I'd be concerned about security/privacy issues, as well.
