Re: The cancel option taken away on the 2010 ASE subscription
<< <i>Spoke with someone at the Mint the other day. They do not expect shipping to take place until December 3rd. >> You gotta love the Mint! They keep us guesssing and depending on who you speak with, it will generate a different response, each time. And in the end, you will either gain on the PM purchases from… -
Re: I purchased A brick of 2008 Pennies on the 'bay...

<< <i> << <i>Have you only opened one roll or are you finding older dates in all the rolls? >> I will open another roll, P.S. these rolls are tight >> Just because the rolls are tight, does not mean they are original...sealed bricks usually are, but just keep that in mind if buying single rolls. I can spot a hand job roll… -
Re: This is not an accented hair Kennedy is it??
And finally, in James Wiles Kennedy attribution book on page 63, he says and illustrates that the lower left serif of the I is weak, not missing. I fact, in his illustration, the master die doubling makes the serif appear as a ghost, but is clearly visible. It is just too small to be a good indicator in the auction scan,… -
Coin show report from the Thrilla in Tukwila!

Can't believe there aren't any other reports out there! Went Sat. and Sunday to the PNNA show in Tukwila, WA. There was a pretty good representation of dealers there - many of the usual local folk, several from Idaho, one from New Orleans, LA. Many of the tables had pretty generic stuff, bullion, etc. Others had some fun… -

I live in Freeport, IL which is west of Rockford about 20 miles. I am thining of getting into metal detecting and I am wondering if there are good places in northern IL to start with. There are a lot of older farm houses around here that are adondoned. I would think that they would make good spots. Just looking for some… -
Re: 1932 D Washington, added MM?
Here's my story: recently I bought a raw 1932-S and raw 1932-D at a coin show. While waiting to show them to an ANACS rep I started talking to a collector roaming the floor. He looked at the coins and said they look funny. Then I showed them to the rep when he was free. He said one looks weird and the other is iffy. So I… -
Re: $8,000 by 2012

Re: HOF/New York Question
I'll most likely just bring a back pack with bottle water in it. I remember walking about 1 mile and a half the last time we went there. Definitely a grueling experience. How is Binghamton, is that a decent town? I'm coming from Northeast Ohio, and my Father is coming from Northern Maryland, so that was a good spot for us… -
Re: i can't stand the dipped coins anymore

Unlike real doctoring ( i don't consider dipping a coin....doctoring a coin) an informed collector can usually spot a dipped coin from a mile away. Therefore, I don't think it is necessary to mention the obvious. Also, let me go on record as saying I don't like dipped coins, but don't believe it is doctoring. I'll take…
