Coin photography - 2 vs 4 Ott lights-which do you like??
I purchased 2 more Ott lights and tried some pics tonight. The left pic is with 2 Ott lights, the right with 4. I think the 4 Ott light gives a overall better illumination of the coin. For instance, a tiny spot by the date in the first image is hidden in the relatively dark area. Do you have a preference?? -

Regarding the S-7 in the above post, there are only 53 examples graded in the PCGS pop. Most of those are up to & including VF35 (2 there). The top 5: * 1 XF40 * 2 XF45 * 1 AU53 (the one above) * 1 AU58. -

The key words for these are "short snorter" for the $1 note, and "first day of issue" for the $2. -
Best and safest way to package and mail 2 certified generic gold coins?
I do not have experience with sending coins through the mail. If I want to mail 2 generic 1/2 oz PCGS certified gold coins, what would be the safest mail service to use? And, how would you package the slabs to protect them during shipment? Would you use a lot of tape? I would appreciate input from those who regularly… -
