Re: found fisher 1220x for sale.
Ya'might go broke buying batteries but I used to have one of those and could never find anything to fault with the way it picked up quarters under the grass. If you like it (and the hobby), save the change you find and buy a Garrett Ace 250 for about 225 bucks. Compared to the 1220, this machine will blow your socks off as… -
Re: The hunt continues: I missed out on a coin that I have been searching for for 3 years!
<< <i> << I can't find a nice 1888 IHC in XF/AU that meets my criteria for eye appeal that doesn't go for moon money. I see a fair number of them in many other dates go for reasonable prices, but a nice '88 always goes for a LOT more than I'm willing to pay. >> Define moon money. It seems as though this is just a tough one… -
Re: Need info on 1869A 100 Francs, please
Jester, It is a very nice coin, looks like a slider, and a coin I have fancied for several years but never found one for the right "value". Here some facts to consider 1) 1869A has the highest mintage of the 8 years minted at Paris ... 29,000. Next highest 10,000 (1870).. with a total of 68,368. 2) The Strasbourg mint… -
Re: Bad photo purchases...........results in, I recieved the coins.
<< <i>Money well spent, indeed. Almost "you suck" territory, in fact. And I was surprised to find myself agreeing with the seller's grades. Both are strong AU coins in my book. And the amount of red on that Indian cent is well above average. OK... I think you've earned this. Step a little closer, and listen up: >>… -
Re: A hypothetical on honesty.
* While there are dishonest sellers there is no such thing as a dishonest buyer unless he pays you with counterfeit money. * You go to a yard sale looking for bargains, you're hoping the seller doesn't know the true value of what he is selling - it's a clearance sale, you are not taking advantage of the seller. No… -
Re: Trying to understand the merchants on Loupe
I understand it's the Loupe app, where sometimes I just wrote Loupe. I found the write-up which led me to think individual cards couldn't be bought using credits. It said you can't use the credits on a static store, it has to be through a stream. Now finding a stream with actual vintage cards is the challenge. The streams… -

Re: Getting a refund on a BB'd coin
<< <i>Wow how many times until people learn. DO NOT BUY RAW COINS ON EBAY, AND NOT FOR 2300 EVER NEVER EVER NEVER. With that being said I have a few questions. 1. Why did it take three months to get the coin graded? With a coin of that value and the way you bought it you should have simply paid for a faster grading. 2.…
