Re: Would you spend more money in hard close auctions if there was a "proxy" feature?
The proxy bids are melded in with all the other bids. If a proxy bid takes the lead, others still have several seconds to bid again. On eBay, you can be the lead bidder when the lots “closes.” Then the snipes come in and win the lot. You, as the lead bidder when the lots “closes” have no recourse. You are a loser. That… -
Re: Do Coin Shops ACTUALLY carry insurance?
They're responsible for it until you receive it. How they insure while the coin is in transit is not your concern. You file a claim against them, and they collect from whatever insurance they have. If they have no insurance, it sucks to be them. It could be, however, that the amount of the purchase was below their shipping… -
Re: WARNING -- Becareful if you consign to Goldberg Auctions!!!!!
<< <i>Yeh, life must suck huh? >> It sucks thinking you won a nice lot at a bargain price only to find you weren't even in the race. If you find another autographed Sherman/Grant note for sale anytime in the next year I'd sure be happy to know about it. Actually life is great for me and I have an agent now so my last… -

Re: Why buy from the dealer when I can get it from the auction myself?
Some dealers and some employees of some dealers, it's true, are not rocket scientists. First of all, have you told the dealers off or made them counter offers which show them that you are in the know? Even the dumb ones won't waste their time if they come to know you as someone to leave alone. Make it easy for them. Now,… -
Re: MS66 FBL 1954-D Franklin bites the dust .....

I collect Franklins, both MS and proof, all raw. I have a blast white MS set in a black Capital Holder I bought about 10 years ago for a whopping $250.00. I have upgraded a few of the coins, but on the whole, the blast white look on MS Franklins does not do it for me [of course most coins in the set are in the lower MS… -

Re: The grades are in... and guess the grade (kinda)

Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 Comments good or bad, eh? OK- here's one of each. The good: you have some nice looking coins, there. The bad: Angelfire sucks the big one, as do Tripod and other "services" that won't let you share your pictures. What good are they? Edit: the links I posted worked okay for a sec, and now I see they are…
