Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
Ignoring the fact that you artfully misunderstood what I said your claim is totally false. Here’s a few examples. Berrios. Twice Allen. Twice Bassit. Twice Here’s what I did. I looked at pitchers ordered by games started, descending. And I looked at the first 3. Any team that has a five man rotation is pretty likely to… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
There’s my Pirates in a nutshell… pretty darn good start from Skenes, then 73 straight balls after he’s pulled and 5* runs walked in, then the freaking grounds crew can’t even cover the field… they almost rolled the tarp over 2 clowns who thought they could jump over it while it was in motion, then came up 6 ft short and… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
That 122 + 6 is still almost 100 innings less than a full season of pitches. In those 6 innings he pitched to a 5+ ERA before he was shut down to limit his work after that LSU season. Then he pitched a few innings in spring ball this year. Maybe he’s the next Feller and all but it’s not usual for a pitcher to hit MLB these… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
There's an early season match-up this weekend that should be good, not remotely close to being a pre-view of anything, just the current two best teams in MLB facing off. The Cleveland Indians(18-7) vs. the Atlanta Braves(17-6) in Truist Park in Atlanta. The Pirates in the meantime have slumped to 13-13 on their way to the… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
This above is also how I understand “rest” day calculations. I’m not aware of anyone calculating the hourly interval between starts but it could be done. I know the have stricter rules at youth levels now and I’m unfamiliar with those. It’s more odd to me because it’s so far off topic. Let’s call it 6 days or 2 days. It… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
@4Boston asks: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real? I replied in a different thread that it was way, way to early to get excited about MLB right now, wait till at least July/August. In the meantime, do you think the 12-5 Braves are for real or the 13-6 Yankees and Indians are for real?? :# Oh yeah, the Pirates are now… -
Re: Are the 11-5 Pittsburgh Pirates for real ?
How does a pitcher benefit from throwing less than 70 pitches? Jones isnt starting every 5 days. March 30th, April 5th, April 11th, April 16th, April 22, April 28th, May 4th. Keller half his starts were every 6 days as well. Imanaga every 6th and 7th day, Louis Castillo half his starts have been 6th day or more, Yamamoto 6…
