   And I was fortunate enough to locate and purchase it. I had missed out on buying one of the only plus graded AU58 1964 Kennedy halves a while back and didn't want to miss out on this single example (within the entire series!) of plus example business strike AU58 Ikes.

   I was too cheap by about a buck and a half to purchase this one the other day off ebay. I just thought it was neat in the old holder. If someone here won it, sorry for that extra dollar and a half. :D .

   So, what doe the + (plus) designation cost extra? (more than the coin?) :o

   I was an underbidder on that Ike! That eBay seller has a slew of cool, super older ANACS graded coins, and each one looked good (mostly Morgans).

   Why would you care about owning such a thing let alone actually paying good money for it?

   Congrats on your addition! One thing to think about is how many of those AU58's were already certified when the + grading became a feature at PCGS.

   nice pickup! amazing it turned out to be a desirable marriage. it IS amazing there is only 1 58+ as there must be thousands of good candidates out there. what really amazes me is that there aren't more of these represented in the pops where someone(s) would want to be ahead of the curve and already have the coins in place…

    I have found the way to get an AU58 is to send an existing AU58, that is really MS62-63, for re-grade with the plus only option. And I have seen AU58+ coins sell for MS65 money on quite a few occasions.
