Re: Selling fake 1893cc morgan ....is that legal?

. if they did that, they'd have to flag HUUUUUUGE numbers of certs, i've seen hundreds and not put but a C- effort into it. there are probably many thousands of compromised certs, provenances, attributions (errors/varieties) etc. for both pcgs and ngc. imo, after looking at the selling history, it was only a matter of time… -
I didn't see any auctioned coins fall through the cracks tonight.

Re: 2010 proof eagles are junk
Just to play Devil's Advocate here...if the Mint actually attempted to achieve a 70 (or even a 69) for every coin, how many blanks would they end up striking and then discarding...maybe 3 or 5 or 10 times the actual finished mintage. Would that be cost effective...and what would the initial price of the actual coin have to… -
Re: Quick question about a signed bill by Kathryn O'Hay Granahan
I doubt she'd be dedicating a signature to a porn star. Actually, here's part of her bio from the history.house.gov website. She was an anti-porn crusader and gets credit for the return of the $2. The widow of Philadelphia Democratic Congressman William Granahan, Kathryn Granahan succeeded her late husband and followed his… -
Re: Guess what this is.
<< <i>How do you clean them? >> Sometimes they come out so nice you can just zap 'em with a little liquid soap and water and stick 'em in the finds album. Usually they need toothpaste, though. For the tougher ones, I use baking soda. Now, if that hasn't scared hell out of you yet, lemme tell you about this one- I used… -

Re: President Wilson Gold Dollar going up

At the monthly meeting of the Colorado Springs Coin Club we have time set aside for all our members to show interesting numismatic items and give a short talk about them. At the last meeting I brought a silver and a copper Wilson "So-called" to share and so I thought the images and and information might be of interest here… -
Re: 09S-VDB What Do Others Here Think About This Coin?

I didn't get much feedback on one of my above post detailing some information about the "E's" on the reverse of the 09SVDB. I know there are known key aspects of details used to identify a phony 09SVDB, be it altered, counterfeited, or faked. Things like, Mint Mark Location, known for the 4 different obverse dies sets that… -
Re: 1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF revisited...introduction to my theory
Also I should have mentioned this before, but I first found this thread when it started in 2009 and brought back memories. Might as well share my NNOF story. A friend of mine pulled a Thomas NNOF in a wax pack from a little store near Rice Lake, Wisconsin. (Northwestern part of the state) I’ve seen that most are pulled… -
Re: Just want to say hello

Ok. Last one for the night. 1951 Parkie The Winning Goal This one was a sentimental purchase. I am a huge Tragically Hip fan. HUGE! Now I'm sure that most of you have absolutely no idea who they are but to Canadians ((no I'm not Canadian) Not that there's anything wrong with that) and US hockey guys of my vintage they are…
