Re: arrived from Ampex
Never had any problems with milk spots on ASE's or Canadian coins. I suppose it depends where you live or how you store them. In humid areas or close to the ocean, the spotting appears to be more prevelant. However, since I purchase mine by the rolls..that's my storage device. Flips should be ok or direct fit holders -
Re: When did PCGS start giving MS70's on ASE's?
<< <i>I thought they only went up to 69 for MS on the ASE's. When did they re-start the 70 grade? They must feel the milk spot problem is solved?? >> More likely, they saw NGC was getting all the submissions and decided that the potential risk of eating a few spotted 70s in the future paled in comparison to the lost… -
Re: I'm glad that you do not collect gold coins.
You forgot to list one of the biggest advantages of collecting gold coins---gold is far less reactive than other coinage metals. With gold, you are far less likely to experience problems with milk spots, corrosion, tarnishing, carbon spots, etc. This is a major consideration if you live in a warm humid climate especially… -
Re: So here I am doing the PSA shuffle...

Speaking of the Mile High auction, I just noticed this and wanted to post it. Here's the card from the mile high auction that sold for a little on the havey side of $2,000. Here's another one on eBay: At first I thought it was the same card (notice the print spot) and thought the seller could be in a world of hurt if… -

Re: Ebay SAE Purchases Disappointing
When buying SAE's on e-bay or other internet sources... make sure there are clear large pictures, preferably a scanner, most scanners can't lie, when I post up SAE's , you can clearly see every little detail, including those that have milky white spots.... Also look at all of the sellers auctions, look and see if the… -
Re: Can you buy bullion ingots at coin shows

<< <i>If you want gold bullion, forget ingots and buy AGE's and buffalos. >> That's the ticket! And don't forget milk spotted ASE and 90% for silver. Well under spot. There should be good pickings for the bullion types at the coming shows. They won't want to get stuck in what looks like a weakening market, and have picked… -
Re: Is There Still a Guaranteed Regrade
Not sure if it helps but I return silver coins with milk spots and just check the other box. I then write in David Hall Spot review and write a quick letter describing the problems. It takes 1-2 months but I usually either get a check or get them cleaned up and re-slabbed and I only have to pay for shipping.
