Re: Gonzaga !
Living in Spokane for over 20 years, I've become a big Gonzaga fan. Have seen a lot of excellent teams over the years, like the one that was bad officiating and a wet floor from winning a national title a few years ago. This one is better than all of them. They're loaded with talent and play hard. They rise to the… -
Re: The Carson Wentz saga
I don't think he's taken a step back. He was incredible the first 7 or 8 weeks but he's been awful since then. But he's doing the same things he's always done - holding the ball too long, taking bad sacks, etc. He's getting sacked 1 out of every 12 dropbacks. 2 years ago, it was 1 out of 9! Sure, some of that is the line… -
Re: Does this seem incongruous to you guys...?
hmmm, not sure if the difference between ebay and memory lane is the main culprit. I suspect prices in big name auctions like memory lane to rake in more dough. the difference is likely caused by the fact that besides his rookie and second year cards, ruth's most known and collected cards are his 33 goudeys. it's really… -
Re: Thread from Network 54
Buckwheat (Rob), You wrote on another thread on the CU Forum in reference to this one that << <i>A guy evidently sent a $6000 card with some others in one box without insurance and not registered, and PSA says they never got the card, though they received the first submission in the box. >> How do you know this? Unless I… -
Re: Parsippany Coin Show Dec 1st In New Jersey
GP: 1) Coin World, Numismatic News, Coins, etc. all have show listings. 2) Coin World's web site has a show list 3) www.coinshows.com If you want, send me a PM and let me know if you're interested in North Jersey or South Jersey coin shows. (Edited to add: I just checked the two online sites, and their listings are pretty… -
Re: what does one do with euro change?
<< <i> << <i> << <i>Call around to some coin shops. We buy them in at 2/3 face value, and the boss carries them to Europe when he goes to coin shows there. >> That is less than half of it's full value. >> Is it my math or does this not make sense? How is 2/3 less than 1/2? >> 1 Euro is $1.58. 2/3 of 1 is .33 +.58 = .92… -

Re: ASE anniversary sets
<< <i>I see some potential for the gold reverse proof with only 10,000 minted. But for $2600 that's a big premium to pay over melt. >> What sucks is if you want the reverse proof, they make you buy the regular proof. That's what's jacking up the prices, for both the Silver and Gold sets. You knock those out and save $800… -
Re: Who's the most popular post-war after the Big 4...
That list is awesome however it doesn't accurately answer the question. For example the Derek Jeter Basic set was just created not even 4 months ago and many don't know it even exists. The numbers show what I am talking about. The Derek Jeter Master Set has 27 registered sets. The Derek Jeter Basic and Collector Issues has… -
Re: Is the Lincoln cent 1909-2003 the longest running obverse design?
I think the original question was only about "obverse design", which would be the Lincoln - 94 years. But . . . I have certainly learned from the thread. We have the Coronet quarter eagle actually holds the record for the longest run without a change in design or composition. 67 years, 1840-1907 QUESTION 2: Now, if we…
