Re: 1910 10 dollar Indian, any chance this is a proof? Updated 12-23
. @2windy2fish i haven't seen anyone post this, that i saw but unfortunately business strike and proof coinage can share diagnostics and therefore dies so those aren't always definitive for differentiation between them. so anyone reading, tread lightly and don't rely on just a few diagnostic marks shared with known proof… -
Re: 2004 Wisconsin extra leafs---
This is the article I wrote for the Coin Dealer Newsletter. Everything (except, obviously, the first sentence) is based on facts from personal experience, interviews with Mint Employees, Mint press releases and research by an expert metallurgist using a Scanning Electron Microscope. Wisconsin Extra Leaves By Richard Snow,… -
Re: One Coin From your Collection that Shouts Joy to You
I apologize twice. Once because i have no pictures and everyone in the 21st century knows it never happened without pictures. Second because I have 2 coins. (To be honest I would be ashamed to have ANY coin in my collection appear in the group of beautiful rare coins that have bee posted so far.) Coin 1 is an 1880-o Morgan… -
Re: OT--A very personal message.
This isn't something I consider OT - I consider it "life", and something we will all deal with in time, whether a spouse, parent or child is taken from us. I'm very sorry for your loss, and know although you have an ache in your heart every day, today will be extra hard. Last month my friend, Bob Bruce, died, which I wrote… -
Re: 2025 Red Sox open the season with a great win in Texas to get started off with a bang.
The Red Sox are a hard team to warm up to. Far too much drama in the clubhouse, Devers, Casas, Bregman and let's toss in the now apparently inept Trevor Story, who is now in the "DFA him" conversations. The link below expresses my sentiments over the months and years about the team. It's almost like management is operating… -
Re: Who's up for a can of worms?
There really isn't a difference in the dies, but the coins in the uncirc sets are handled with much more care. You won't find a bag mark on a uncirc set coin, and the business strike coins are so sloppily made that it's hard to find a nice strike in the wild. Here's the Mint's official statement:  What's the… -

Re: Ward vs Gatti
These guys need to know and understand that there's a big difference between a 20 or 30 year old getting hit on the head, versus a 50 or 60 year old. A younger body simply because of youth, can absorb punishment much better than an older body. Look at Bob Saget the comedian. He was around 65 years old. He falls in the… -
Re: Should MLB reinstate Pete Rose?
A Baseball Hall of Fame with Harold Baines in means NOTHING! It's already worthless and has quite a few POS human beings in it, Pete would not alter that mix. The 'young girl' allegations were timed too coincidentally with his last attempt at reinstatement and they died as soon as his reinstatement chances did for me to… -
Beware of sellers of fake key date US coins on eBay
I noticed that two eBay sellers, one in Greece (2014mitsotakis) the other in Cyprus (stefromcy) are selling - or have sold, very suspicious looking key date US (and apparently world as well) coins that look highly suspicious. Probably the same seller, or conspirators. Check out the sellers list of 2014mistotakis.…
