You might also consider joining net54baseball.com. That forum is primarily a pre-war forum, though it does have active sections for post-war cards too. Their B/S/T section regularly has pre-war cards for reasonable prices (sub-$100 each, often $50 or so). If you are looking to acquire some budget friendly, lower condition… -

If the 1884-S is worth $30, then this is worth 120 times more than what you paid for it. My understanding is if one scores a coin worth >100X more than you paid for it, then it's worthy of a prestigious "You suck!" award. Usually this is given for small purchases of $10 or $20 dollars that turn out to be coins worth… -
