Milk spots are permanent.... other spots, if resulting from inclusions (i.e. copper) or carbon spots usually will leave evidence even if removed. Not much can be done unless they are organic, then acetone will usually remove them. Cheers, RickO -
Spotting on proof coins in slabs??
Has anyone noticed gold copper spots and silver milk spots showing up after being graded? I am assuming PCGS does not use spray can air to blow coins prior to slabbing? -

I would pass on this one. Not a big fan of the white spots on the reverse. Reminds me of milk spots on Silver Eagles. -

I agree with you 100 %. I only buy mint direct in OGP. I would never pay $199 let alone $699, however for those FOMOs who have to have it $699 is better than the $900 to $1,200 others are charging. By the way I purchased several dozen slabbed 70 ASEs and Commems. In 2010 and 2013 for the grand kids. Kept them in heavy duty… -

I see carbon spots Yes. Under the T of LIBERTY and on the sun. Worth $3 over melt in my opinion. I don't know abut $3, but I see carbon spots and the hint of milk spotting starting as well -

I have a NGC FEC in ms64 that developed a small area of verdigris. It has a neat wood grainy kind of toning which wasn't affected at all by the conservation. Even knowing where the spot was I don't see any damage and after 3 years it hasn't returned. Before they eliminated free spot review I sent about 3 dozen AGEs, ASEs… -
