Re: Is NGC having a turn for the worst?
<< <i>...that long-term collector may think twice about buying some AT ticking time bomb of a coin that is likely to turn in the holder in the coming years, and have no financial recourse whatsoever. The long term collector should already be concerned about this. I agree completely. however, when a company is still in… -
Re: Picked off a cherry today.
Sorry folks, can't do pics. A dealer gave me some solution years ago that he uses to remove haze. I forget what it is, though it may be jewel luster. In any event, I diluted it and have had good luck with it removing haze from proof and SMS coins, primarily silver. I give the hazed coin a quick bath, rinse it in a solution… -
Re: The Genuine Value of OGH's and CAC Stickers
I can make sense of the 66 OGH no sticker (generic), and the 66 OGH gold sticker (superb all there 67). But the 66 OGH green sticker probably wouldn't sticker every time through imo. 66 green stickered OBV is a bit scruffy with considerable grazing and some high point friction. The reverse has considerable milk… -
Re: 1822 $5 half eagle in upcoming Pogue Auction
Originally posted by: roadrunner Originally posted by: Gazes This coin is the subject of books and is one of the highlights of all 5 auctions. Re: Traded 10 oz. of silver for 4/10 oz. of gold!
<< <i>I have been getting rid of my Silver American Eagles partly due to lack of interest and the milk spotting issues and to fund my newest collecting habit of CBH's.I had sold a complete set of NGC MS-69's a couple weeks ago on E-bay and made very little after all the fees.Anyways I had 10 left that I wanted to get rid… -
Got Milk?

Good for one pint milk..VELEY No major hunt story here, but I found this milk token in my back yard about an hour ago. I was playing with my 2500 fitted with the 12.5 inch imaging coil. My yard is plagued with shallow trash targets, as I've previously dug many car parts, bottle caps, foil, you name it! I wanted to try… -
Re: Facinating Ikes
“Fascinating Ikes” is a bit of an oxymoron to me, beacause I’ve never been particularly fascinated by them. That being said, I’m sort of on the lookout for a type example, so I’m ready to give them some grudging respect at last. And I’ve noticed what those high end MS pieces go for. Think I’ll find me a nice flashy, common… -
Re: Red Spots On Gold Buffalo Surfaces - Bullion Buffalo in PVC - Is there a danger of PVC attacks on Bu
<< <i>Well, Sunshine Minting, says.... they have a huge problem, a problem that all the refiners have. It's a problem that NONE of them want to talk about (or admit) Here is the Bad-word of the day..... BISMUTH All the refiners fight it all the time. Bismuth "likes" silver.... a lot. So the refiners are always fighting to… -
Re: 2007 W ASE Uncirculated - Grading PCGS or NGC - Interesting

<< <i>I hadn't heard about any milk spots until now. Hmph. Well so much for things getting changed on that one . Swest >> they woudn't go back and regrade your 69's to 70's... I think if you want to roll the dice and flip go ahead and send to NGC and sell the 70's, I am waiting to get a NGC MS 70 to compare to the PCGS… -
