I believe the 3 leg is real. One of the die markers I look at but is rarely mentioned is the beard on the Buffalo. On a non 3 leg the 2 parts are very close to the same length. On the real 3 leg the front one is shorter than the rear one. It would be very difficult to make that on a fake. Also an obverse picture would tell… -

1867 Shield Nickel w/Rays. Is this a collectible RPD?

I am prepping a submission to our hosts and this has been in my type set for years. I don't know much about this series, does anyone here know if: 1.) this is an RPD or strike issue? 2.) would it add any value? I looked at the varieties on PCGSs website and this didn't seem to match anything to my eyes, hence why Im asking… -

These all appear to be notes that were issued to collectors in special sets by the Treasury Department at a premium price. They were issued in special albums or folders, and if you have the original albums or folders these notes will probably be worth more to collectors. You can check eBay for an estimate of the prices… -
