The dimpling in miniature in the fields is NOT matte but marks of a transfer die in my opinion. Also the hair detail is just not right, old die or not. Looks like the auction was taken down. Kudos if you turned it in and got it shutdown. I would love to see those that find these auctions point out how they know it is a fake so that the rest of us can take notes and learn. There are folks on these forums that can spot a fake a mile away and I wouldn't know it if I held it! -

a039- ALL the Mexican coins? Including the Oaxaca? BTW, I just added a low-res scan of the error 10-pesos piece, which I stole from Russ on eBay a while back. The scan shows none of the coin's luster and exaggerates the milky/hazy spot below the bust- it is nowhere near that noticeable in hand. -

I always stop at a coin shop if I see one when I'm on vacation........ About 10-12 years ago, I was in Florida and stopped in at one of the local shops........ MM, The forehead looks a little more like Gorbachev than Ike Also, the right wing dings and the little spot (milky/tone) over the eagle's head distracts a little too. Finally, the fields look great but there is a little glare from the picture. Too tough to say based on the scan, can you take another picture ? -

I go to my local coin dealer who is also a bullion trader and is located 8 miles from my house.. They pay me 8% below spot for gold and silver with no hassles. Just not worth spending too much time on 1 or 2% payout differences unless your talking in 5 digits or more
