Re: Strange Ebay Situation
Am I really reading this correctly? Scammed? Bilked? Get away with it? The pay what you think it's worth model has been around since the history of sales. Whether that figure is zero, $3, $30 or any amount inbetween, send the money and enjoy the card. Or get rid of it (understand the $3 note was what it was worth to the… -
Re: Some questions on the sports cards & memorabilia business/hobby
FF I didn't check but I would imagine that the coin grading side has authorized dealers just like PSA. There are a wealth of great dealers throughout the country who no longer have stores but deal "out of a suitcase" in a way. They go to bigger shows and run auctions on ebay and of course, there are numerous great auction… -
Re: Gun Ban fails!
"The solution to criminal action and terrorist action is for people to stand up and defend themselves, and to do it very well." When I was 12, I would walk to the range with my Marlin 22 single shot and participate in the NRA sharpshooter program. Ended up with the 9 bar sharpshooter award, the final medal in the training… -
Re: Treasure Dectective show on G4 cable calls T206 Wagner Fake
<< <i>And if someone used the race card to say thats why this Honus cant be accepted as genuine . Then that is just sad >> From a press release signed off on by Edwards himself: "A Matter of Race and Class: The world of sports memorabilia collecting is largely dominated by wealthy white men. Enter into the mix, two… -
Re: 40 years without JFK

I remember that Friday very clearly. I lived near Cleveland, OH then, and was in the 9th grade. I had finished a class and was going to the cafeteria for a study hall. There were other kids who were saying that the President had been shot, but nobody had any details. They hooked up the PA system to the radio, and you… -
Re: Pawn Stars-----Lou Gehrig Signed Jersey????
i was out in las vegas last week and stayed downtown. myself and two other guys walked up there (roughly a mile) not the best neighborhood so if you are walking it is best to go in the day. if you are staying anywhere south of the sahara on the strip you are in for a long walk and you may want to drive or get a taxi. if… -

Re: Make An Offer! Toned PCGS Morgans F/S Here! Not Ebay! A Refreshing Change For This Board!
Yeah, we've been together since the 60's. It's for the same reasoning that Keith Richards is still with the Rolling Stones........he makes Mick Jagger look healthy. TTT only once in 24hrs ! Only one offer from a total madman who offered to trade his car. If I don't see some enthusiasm for these gems, they'll go in the… -
Re: Coin stories
I'm at over 50 years in the hobby. At age 13, I had a paper route, mowed yards and picked up coke bottles. I thought I was rich. After school I would ride by bike to the local coin shop. It was only about 2 miles away. The owner was really kind to me. We were friends for about 40 years before he passed. He brought me… -
Re: :::ANSWER REVEALED::: Guess the Grade: ANACS 3-Legged Buffalo Nickel

I've seen many abused Buffalos in my day but this one had an appeal that gave me pause. I studied it under a glass for a couple of minutes and determined the cleaning was mild as there are no hairlines or distractions. This is a difficult date to grade because if you're comparing it to say, a 1938-D it will always come up…
