Re: Failure to Bump
I agree with hammered. Grading involves a somewhat subjective decision (using so-called objective parameters) by a human being. Your odds are much better by cracking and submitting. Once the grader sees a previous grade, they are biased. No way around it. They may give you the half point but very rarely will give you the… -
Re: bogus sets in the registry
I remember years ago, back when I was competing with a couple of guys for top GPA spots, I'd sometimes add a couple of PSA 9 cert numbers (from eBay, that weren't mine) to my PSA 8 set, just to see where my GPA would be if I purchased them. I'd always delete them within a few minutes, but I suppose this guy could be doing… -
Re: This guy must be drunk!

Better yet, check out her 1889 Proof Morgan. It's graded 650MPL. I think she meant 65 DMPL but if that were true then it wouldn't be a proof, now would it? I have no idea who her "appraiser" is, but he probably needs a seeing eye dog. I'm tempted to send her an email and try to educate her, but not sure if it's worth it.… -
Re: OTish--Where did scamcrook's second neg come from?
Feedback response says: "Look at his name" Yep, I did, and I think that says it all. As for my opinion on the auction (seeing as I missed the last thread) is that it was designed to fool, not everyone, but just enough people to get a few bids out of line with reality. Not everyone reading these auctions has English for a… -
Re: GAI question
<< <i>and receive another 7.5 Clemente with less desirable characteristics. >> TG - I do not knock grading companies on here (PRO notwithstanding), as I feel to knock 1, is in essence knocking my grading company of choice. Plus competition is a good thing, keeps everyone in check. But your point is certainly valid, and… -
Re: Logan Paul's 3.5 MM Pokemon case updates
It's not risky, because as we've seen time and time again in this hobby no one really cares. Not going to list all of the hobby related businesses that have errors / business practices far bigger then this and are thriving, but suffice to say there are many. This hobby at the high end is a POP TART measuring contest and… -
Do coin doctors play an important/necessary role in our hobby?
When looking at some very marketable but problem coins, one can't help notice at how in any given auction that many of the problem coins end up in the docs hands and scammers eBay listings. While some get cracked out and listed as problem free and others get treatment to make the problems less obvious some even making it… -
Another email scam trying for my paypal info
The scammers are getting better at their crime. I just received the slickest email asking me for information about my paypal account. At first glance, it looks legit. Even the source code all points to Paypal.com. But I know it's not real because paypal would never ask for the following via email: Email Address: Password:… -
Re: BBCE grades popped. : ) and : (
So much is always made of "eye-appeal" and if Im not mistaken, that term is used when describing the differences in some of the grades. Here's a question I have not seen debated yet? If a card is slightly trimmed, so what? I can understand if the card is missing 25% of its surface area, but if its only 5% or less, which… -
Re: My tale of woe...
definitely true. for what it's worth, seller brought this up and said that he was trusting my integrity. now, i've taken a lot of logic and can see that this means: "i believe that you didn't do that, so therefore am telling you that it's too bad that you got beat in this deal." also, i offered as an arbitration to pay X%…
