Re: one big way to protect the collector in the face of the counterfeit coin insurgence
<< <i> While it is true that this benefit is helpful, but you'll only find newly graded coins with these photos, a simple reslabbing fee of $5 each is all it takes to get the pictures there This is exactly what i did with my four and five figure coins; I plan on sending the lower valued ones soon. >> Hmmmm. When a coin… -
Re: Are pics of the coin in the slab necessary on Ebay?
Not necessary, but more pictures are always better than less pictures. Personally, I like seeing the whole slab. There are a lot of scammers who will sell a coin as "NGC MS66" or somesuch, and then you get an unslabbed coin, and the seller says crap like "it used to be in an NGC slab, but I cracked it out" or "it *would*… -
Re: Fletcher, did you really leave BigD a Negative over that?
12. Feeling that I gave him enough chances to give me a refund, which he did not in fact willing do, I left him a negative. IMO, this action crossed the line. The negative should be reserved for thieves and scammers. Perhaps Darin's service did not meet your expectations, but this episode did not justify the negative, IMO,… -
Re: hiding pcgs ser # ?
There are two possibilities I can think of: 1. The seller has several of the item and only want to take one photo. On things like PR69 moderns this probably makes sense since you couldn't tell the difference from the photo anyway in most cases. 2. The "seller" is a scammer who has lifted the photo from someone else's… -
Re: Tradelist
Just a reminder to everyone that bradley25 still has 5 trades where he has not completed his end and has people watching him as a scammer. When biggjc posted to ask about where his card was, bradley25's posted response was simply "Yawn." He has already created 2 new screen names to avoid people trying to get him for mail… -
Re: Gold coins 1998 eagle

Here's a big fat welcome to ya! GAE's are beautiful coins and a nice type addition to a new collection. As a bullion coin its value will fluctuate directly with the price of gold. You paid a fair price based upon current price. Do your homework and when buying coins on ebay I would recommend staying with PCGS, NGC or ANACS… -
Re: This a bunch of BS
It's funny -- eBay doesn't often go after reports of obvious fakes that aren't sold as fakes, which get bid up way too high...and someone advertises clearly and honestly as a fake, asks almost nothing for it, has bidders who want it as a fake...and they pull it. Rules are rules, but all else being equal, it would be nicer… -
Re: 1990 SIFK Tony Hawk

forgot where i read it, but had to do w the 96 sifk tiger woods card. quite a few were cut on all four sides. learned right then and there not to let perforated cards fool me. they can be trimmed. sure enough there were pictures of true perforations vs the trimmed version. the perforations looked quite different and a… -
Re: OMG-ebay warning, first ive seen
cross site scripting attack i imagine. this type of attack was always consider a luser attack in the hacking world. a way to trick people into giving out info or making a webpage look "funky" to embarass someone. major websites have programmers who are too lazy to code properly so these things do not happen. but time and…
