Sorry, a little late, but been kinda busy: This is our clubs annual coin show we have in December every year, been setting up at this show for 20+ years, and attending since the age of 7. ( 51 now). Over the years I mainly do this show to meet folks in area, and let people know who don't already I'm in town with a local… -
OT Redskins/Giants game last night
Last night I had the pleasure and displeasure of attending the Redskins/Giants game at FedEx Field. Living in Va. and being a Giants fan doesnt lend to many opportunities to see a live Giants game. This was my first Giants game and my first time at FedEx Field. If anyone has any desires to see a game there, let me pass… -
Re: October………..pick ups.

End of the month Sept purchase but received this month so I'll just add it here. Spotted the listing rather late at night (for me anyway). 14 albums for $9.99 + $6.25 shipping. Pictures of just the covers and no describing the condition of the records other than what you see is what you get. Put it on my watch list and… -
Re: 1964 Sandy Koufax Tropicana postcard... why such interest?.. Grades are in... scans added.
From smalltraditions.com: Among the rarest and most coveted Sandy Koufax items from his playing days are the 1964 Tropicana Motel Postcards, which advanced Koufax collectors know can be found in two variations, one picturing the Brooklyn-born southpaw poolside at his new Hollywood hotel in street or "civilian" clothes and… -
Re: Game Theory and customer relations
Oh, boy - it's one of those days. Insert foot in friggin' mouth. OK, here's a retail one: I answer the phone last week, the first words out of the guy's mouth are "hey, want to buy a bag of 90, buddy?" Now I know what kind of person I am dealing with. Instead of saying "do you know how much face value is in a bag?" I said… -
Re: How many of you still have your cards from long ago and managed to keep them high grade?
This is a great thread. If I had only never sold one card and just made due financially, I would have one hell of a collection. I have sold at least 40 Mantles in the late 80's & early 90's not to mention all the others. IF I HAD ONLY HELD ON. Anyway, I started collecting at the age of 6, in the summer of 1976 when my dad… -
Re: 1977 JIM PALMER PSA 10

Philabuster, No need to be coy. Your turn or someone you know? Marc and Conte, Nice discussion. My issue is not whether one card gets a 9 vs. the 10. My 77 Madlock (9) is strangely EXACTLY like my Madlock 10. Looks like a vending twin. BOTH are 10-worthy. I don't mind that stuff. My opinion is simple: If you have to… -
Re: 1890-CC Prooflike $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle - New Purchase & Photos
Thanks to everyone for their complimentary comments and observations about my new 1890-CC $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle. Without commenting yet on the grade, I'd like to answer some of the excellent questions that have been asked. I prefer focusing more on the eye appeal of the coin, than on the grade. As an Introduction,… -
Re: paypal woes...sellers beware

I have waited till the end to chime in. Good points made by everyone. Although I own my home free and clear-having lived in this very spot since 1986 -although EVERY carrier knows me personally/ even thought my last Name and numbers are in big bold White letters on a Black mailbox, there is not a week that goes by that the… -
Re: 1967 mantle checklist variations
<< <i>This subject has been discussed before on this board: Mantle CL >> Well thank you good sir for providing the missing link to my investigation but something still isn't right. After reading that 3 year old post I conclude that the first auction that I linked is actually a mislabel and somebody quickly and smartly…
