Re: Another E-Bay Notification! Perhaps this is a step in the right.......
ive been switched to managed payments for a yesr now. i still use paypal to check out 100% of the time. even if i didnt, whatever banking/credit establishment i used still would override ebays decision. so even w this rule change there are still 2 ways scammers can still scam and for up to 6 months later. -
Re: eBay question selling
Years ago, I was unaware of the signature required policy on ebay. When Jeremy Lin was hot. I sold and shipped a nice auto rookie. Item showed delivered but the buyer claimed it was not received. The funny part was they had it listed for sale on their same account on Ebay. Not sure how or why but most scammers are not very… -
Re: Miscut one dollar bill.
you see that on Ebay all the time....scammers can make a lot more money luring the unsuspecting with more obvious freak notes...The BEP has lists of all the sheets sold but uninformed collectors don't know this.....This one is real but is not worth much more than $5 (to someone wanting to pay $5)...since there is only $1… -
Another PayPal/ebay scam thread - but this presents useful info
If ANY message starts out: Dear ebay user: or Dear PayPal user: It's fake. They've got your name on file. They never start with a generic "user" line. The scammers that send these out generally don't know your name, just your email addy, so they always start with that generic address. Be smart. Look at the salutation… -
Bad Auction Scam
In the U.S. and World Currency Forum there is a thread about an ongoing scam. PLEASE LOOK. It invloves both currency and coins. Items recently sold on eBay by different sellers and bought by different buyers are quickly put on Yahoo. The currency was $500 notes and even the descriptions were the same down to the… -

Re: What are your thoughts on bullion buying
This is not the time to be taking chances with bullion buying. Scammers are going to be out there looking for buyers who want a "good deal". There also may be some sellers who have good reputations from past transactions but who are now in financial trouble. The only thing you may end up getting is a legal notice informing… -
Re: Registered mail
Ah, for PP/eBay, things are a bit different. You will still be made whole by the USPS if it was lost BUT if the recipient is a scammer and actually gets the package and files a claim via PP/eBay, then you will have to do some kind of legal action. Registered itself is fine. To make things less stressful the added, and… -
Re: Attempted Theft...1956 Mantle psa 9...on ebay...
Originally posted by: thebaseballcardkid When I click on the link, I don't even get "It's been closed, or taken down". Just "similar items". Is there a way to retrieve the listing? Id like to bookmark the seller. It probably won't do much good. Scammers hijack dormant ebay accounts. When the auctions get shut down, they… -
Re: The Buy, Sell, & Trade experience
If you think that someone is overcharging, dont buy it or make an offer. I have had positive experiences and have met and talked to many members. Sometimes when I had something up for sale, a member would just PM to say it was a nice item. There may be some outside scammers that visit the boards but I would say we are an…
