Re: T206 Wagner on ESPN this morning ...
Scammers aren't very good at coming up with excusses for why they won't have something graded. The seller of this Bobby Orr knows full well, that this card is a reprint. EDITED: Listing was removed. SOUNDS SILLY BUT I AM SCARED TO SEND IT AWAY FOR GRADING AS HOW DO I KNOW ILL GET MY CARD BACK NOT ANOTHER. -
Re: better than ebay with givaways !!!!!!
During startup it is usually a good opportunity to take advantage of free offers. Why is this less susceptible to scammers and fakes than eBay? Only if it is run by knowledgeable numismatists will it be. Lets hope. And I have to say that our own cmerlo1 is also trying to start up a coin auction site to take on ebay and… -
Re: eBay question
Amigo, I understand your point but, as I'm not in the retail business I don't feel I have to bend over backwards to get someone that a) wants me to violate eBay rules and b) acts like a scammer I'm not desperate to sell. If they get sold, great! If not, I get to keep them a bit longer. No harm, no foul. -
Re: Fishy Ebay Auction
If he used the post office to send the merchandise/refund/etc then that is wire fraud, follow up with appropriate law enforcement. Which is another tip for people, if a seller insists on using fedex or ups and refuses to use the USPS, be on the lookout for a scam. Most scammers avoid the USPS to avoid federal prison if… -
Re: Ebay Seller help please- Card lost in mail
How many times can you claim you didn't get something before paypal or ebay stops believing you??? It's probably infinite and I know Paypal even agrees that there's an onslaught of fraudulent claims and it will never end. If sellers do not use tracking then Paypal has no recourse but to just give the scammers back their… -
Re: HELP - What should I do? Paypal Seller Protection!
If you use signature confirmation on an unconfirmed address, while a scammer could still claim that they never received the item and make a PayPal claim, you would readily be able to prove fraud to postal inspectors. Few people are willing to risk federal prison time for a $1300 item with the paper trail that they would be… -
Re: What was this junk I just bought??
When I was a kid, I worked in a warehouse with a shrink wrap machine. The scammer in question probably just has access to a shrink wrap machine through a job/friend/whatever. Still, if it's like most retail boxes I've opened, the contents would be worth less than the trip to and from Target. Not a good scam, imo. -

Re: SCAM!!
<< <i>But for all I know he could be a shill. >> I'm quite confident that the high bidders are not shills. Since the seller was willing to accept $3000 through BIN (I'm sure he'd take even less, since he is a scammer with no coin to deliver) he'd have no reason to have the item bid up to where it is now.
