I believe it's against ebay's rules. But then again, isn't everything. By selling it you are probably just allowing a scammer to do business under a former "good" account. I would imagine that totally stripping and account of personal info and it's Paypal account would be almost impossible. I wouldn't try it. -

Will it stop those from stealing pics and serial numbers? This is the fear I have. I noticed in the past sellers blacking out the serial number on the slab. Now a scammer can list a legit auction and not even own the coin listed. I do think it's a step in the right direction though. -

if it says "79 topps" on the pack, and you have 75 topps baseball cards showin in the back, and topps football in the front! My goodness! You have a poster child for a re-packed item, either by a "drunk scammer" or an employee at topps that was playin' an April Fool's joke! Wierd stuff! rbd -

And what if that person has a virtual collection of coins. At least the person has a better hobby than someone that watches reality tv shows and gossips about them after words. At least coins are mostly real with the exception of some of the stuff ebay scammers create. I'm not sure what to call that. -

Do some of the people on ebay actually think they are going to sell a "rare" common coin for $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000? Some of the ads are ridiculous and ebay shouldnt even allow them. Ebay needs to get a hand on some of the scammers. It used to be a good place to buy things but you have to be cautious now. -

all of my ebay high dollar shipments are stamped "do not forward, return service requested." My listings clarify that item will not be forwarded and that buyer needs to make sure his paypal shipping address is up to date. Having the delivery address changed once item is in transit is a popular scammer trick. -

Really not true anymore, as even allowing for the random scumbag seller, eBay offers buyers pretty much foolproof protection, if they open and dispute a case. The burden of dealing with eBay scammers rests pretty much fully on the shoulders of sellers; I'm grateful to be an occasional seller and not have to make my living… -

The days of being able to successfully sell "cheap stuff" online are over. Shipping costs plus eBay & PayPal fees are bad enough but now you also have to contend with a new breed, the "Buyer Scammer" as I call them. These folks know how to work the system to get their merchandise for free.
