Here is a good reason for Private Auction Listings
I have now been told by two different people that they have received a "Second Chance Offering" for one of my auctions. It looks like the scammer is just going down my bidder list. At least these two people knew enough that it was bogus but I sure hope the other bidders don't fall for the scam. Larry Dabigkahuna -

If "reversing" the transaction means you can't expose this scammer, don't do it. I'd be willing to kick in $20 to help you absorb the loss, since that feedback will save other collectors… -

Paypal owes you. You followed the rules so you would have been covered by paypal buyer protection so if the scammer had been successful, the victim would have been paypal. That is why paypal fees are as high as they are. The more wise buyers like you help paypal avoid being taken, the lower fees will stay. --Jerry -

. . well done everyone i have bookmarked the ebay report item link having reported dozens of listings, this will come in most handy it is really really sad to see these scammers work 2x as hard for 1/2 as much than if they were to do things honestly and get 2x for 1/2 the work fear is the strangest of all things -

For the readers, as always, never click on links in an email. 98% of phishing scams work that way. Avoiding this one step filters out all those would be scammers.
