Interesting auction #2
Recently, I've had a couple of rather "interesting" auction experiences. I have waited until the "strange" situations were resolved before posting this, but now I would like to know if others have had similar experiences. All of this occurred online. This is Surprise #2. Variety 1 usually refers to the state prior to the lapping. Variety 2 which is much more… -

Replaced this coin in my set this week at FUN. Offering here. A lot of meat and a great looking coin for the grade, full date, full rim on Reverse, great facial detail for grade. It's exceedingly hard to find original problem free Bust coins in the sub-$1000 range, especially with CAC. Offering it for my cost, I'll cover… -

Re: Is this 1834 CBQ counterfeit? Update: It's real. 1834 B-1 and 1833 B-2 Characteristics

The coin in question is real...It is an 1834 B-1, the most common die marriage found in 1834. The eagle is different than the one normally found in the small diameter capped bust quarter series, because the reverse working die was made from a unique master hub. This reverse die was also used in 1833 to produce the 1833 B-2… -
