Went to the local coin shop /silver dealer again today and common 1 ounce rounds and bars are $ 4 over spot ($ 17 each) It can't be had any cheaper anywhere in this region (within a couple hundred miles) so It was a buy . Lower grade Morgans and Peace were $ 16.50 each, and I heard him say he had a major dealer buying them… -

There have been prime examples of highly graded coins, that I as you might as well say Not a Seasoned Pro, could spot for 5 miles....If they are going to grade according to who owns the coins..then the coin market is over for me and will be for many to come....Can They See they are destroying a fun and historical hobby… -

Guess those are not spots in front of the nose and mouth after all Does this 64 Pattern have the "L" on it, since I can't even make out all the diamonds there is now way I can see if it is there or not. Of the 64 patterns how many come with or without the "L", are the diags to check the the 64… -

Not well struck. After the blank goes through the upsetting mill the edge of the planchet has a rounded surface. When it is struck in the press the planchet expands and makes contact with the collar creating a flat spot on the edge. As the strike continues the flat spot widens and it takes on the appearance you see on this… -

Nickels are one of the hardest coins to AT with chemicals. The same components that interact easily with silver and copper do virtually nothing to the typical nickel and very little to war nickels. You can usually spot them a mile away because they are so splotchy. Typically both obverse and reverse will be completely… -

Big storms hit here regularly. Once a funnel cloud reaches the ground it's called a tornado. We've not had any here this year, but the five in the past four years make up for this year's failure. We have one spot about 10 miles from me that was directly hit by three of the five tornados. Blows the theory out of the water…
