Yes, I along with many others have received these types........Yup, "It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!" The next couple of months will have to be designated 'Scammer Awareness' months. Sad, but true! -

Chop marks are applied after the coin left the mint so it's technically post mintage damage. Also, it wouldn't be too difficult for a scammer to create a few punches and apply a few chop marks to a group of circulated coins. -

I can't believe you've never opened any of them... really opening yourself up to scammers who will sell you a fake sealed box with a lead weight in it or a few rocks. Hope that wasn't the case here. -

I always show the number. The only time I hide them is for cards I scan for the registry. If I'm not selling a card, I don't want to give scammers the opportunity to steal the image to use in a fake auction. -

I dont find it ethical that they are selling the packaging for Donruss Classics. Kay-Bee is making it easy for scammers to easily insert resealed packs in there and pass it off as legit. Actually I just think the price is too high. -

The one-man grading company SGS guy has got to be the king of Ebay coin scammers. He has 6 pages of auctions up right now. Some going for hundreds of dollars, some bin's for thousands. -

John, Coin World (and numismatics) is full of scammers. Before buying from a dealer, go to the search feature on this forum and type in their name. Odds are they've been discussed many times before. There's a wealth of information in the forum archives.
