      I have found that the majority of "Private" auctions are from know crooks, scammers, and con artists. I realize that there are some that are not for legitimate reasons, however, many buyers will not even bid on a "Private" auction at all.

      "Dont bid without my permission" yet this guy has ZERO transactions? Anyone who bids on this set is asking to be burned! Who the hell lists a $3,000 item as their very first transaction? SCAMMER!

      Seems to me that his returning $116K of the $123K went a long way towards getting a light sentence. It's very rare for scammers to make restitution because most of the time the money has been spent.

      Not sure that I understand. It is never a bad idea to have a 1928 authenticated, especially since it was common for scammers to remove the S from a more common 28-S.

      Well, it looks like eBay pulled the plug on this scammer -- at least this particular disposable zero-feedback account, anyway. He no longer has any items for sale.

      Nice to know there are still quality people in this hobby. We read about the ebay scammers too much these days. This kind of story is what numismatics is all about.
