Re: Story how someone got burned buying coins in 3rd tier slabs
You should have told him about the differences in the grading companies. Yes, he will feel cheated and disappointed when he learns that his new coins are overgraded. Hopefully he won't hold that against you. You are just the messenger. I gave a couple of presentations at my coin club about the grading companies. I would… -

Re: Are prices strating to climb again?
I collect the Jeffs in MS and Proof and the complete range of 'silver proofs' 1950-1964. Prices are down for anything bought in 2007/2008. Prices are steady to up from 2006. The FUN sale in 2008 appears to have been a peak for cameo top pops. I have been able to buy coins that I lost at auction in 2008 at prices about 20%… -
One TERRIFIC ebay customer. NOT.

I won't public disclose the buyer's name - but anyone wishing to know who the slimebag is, may PM me for the answer. Recently I sold a solid PR67CAM (I'm not revealing exactly what coin either at the moment) Started at one buck - photos and description clearly mentioning any problems with the coin. It had a couple of… -

Re: My Meager Wrestling Collection

Hi Mike, Yup, I'm that miscut guy (hmmm, that doesn't sound quite right  ) so your memory is spot on. I love the magazines Such a different time when little eyes saw the world in such an innocent way. But learning the truth behind wrestling never took away from my enjoyment of it. Those were a yard sale haul from… -
Re: has anyone ever gone through this?

I got a Road Atlas today. Will be looking at it and deciding where in the USA I want to go. Tops on my list are the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, and the ANA Museum. If I can get 2 weeks this fall, I might drive. If not - I might fly. I'm so jealous. Love it out there. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity… -
Re: A Downside To The 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle?
Interesting thread. I like the design of the SAE and I'm in favor of US mint issued silver bullion. Beyond stacking silver, I can't understand those who see it as a collectible series. The milk spots alone would drive me nuts and it's not meant for commerce anyhow. Contrived rarities and special finishes are a bit gimmicky… -
Re: More Depressing Submission Results

the Sac was the "freebie of the quarter" dealio... it's also the only coin in the batch I didn't "work" on The Ike was a stuborn mule, had big nasty milk spots all over it, which finally did come off. Unfortunately, looks like I rushed my "rinse" (I actually dunk them in an acetone bath, and EZest has water in it BTW). Now… -

Today is the first day of the 49th Annual Georgia Numismatic Association Coin & Currency show.
