Re: Grades received today. Update. Trueviews are posting.
As noted with these coins, 1950 Proof Half-Dollars are rarely found very nice in the still extant Proof Sets, they are almost always plagued with a number of problems. Over-used dies resulting in less than stellar fields, hairlines, abrasions and "milk spots" seem to dominate the coins that are left to be found. I've owned… -
Rare PCGS 30th Anniversary Sample in SILVER - only 32 made. Hallmark sample with Norweb $1 Photo.

Offering a very rare Sample made in silver. Only 32 made for the founding members of PCGS and closely held by them as a result. As an update, I haven't seen one of these offered since 2017 and as far as I know, there are still only 3 in collector hands. I have 2 and am keeping one that I can tie specifically to the… -

What's your experience with PCGS Restoration services regarding verdigris removal from copper?

Anybody here ever sent in a PCGS encapsulated coin for review and treatment? I fully understand I can call them but before I do I was wondering what the real world results of this are and if anyone here has done it. I've got a nice Fugio which has developed a bit of verdigris on the obverse (just left of center and a few… -
Texas Satin Quarters do exist!!(pics inside)

Picked up 3 more Texas Coin and Currency sets today and showed them to many dealers including high members of the TNA and they all agreed these were either matte or satin finish quarters. The sets were made in 2006 and released July 26th, so I have no idea when the quarters were struck. 2000 sets were made with 2 quarters… -
Re: 2008 Belmont Stakes , Any opinions on the big race
I don't understand all the issues about the horse, I have watched the race several times and it just looked like he just simply did not have the stuff that day. We have days where there is nothing wrong with us we just don't want to do it. Horses are not much different. It is not uncommon for horses to have issues getting… -
Re: Interesting WSJ article on model trains--any relevance to coins?

I grew up within a few miles of the Lionel headquarters and still have all those trains my parents got us when my brother and I were children, some of them are the cast iron engines etc and are all in boxes wrapped in newspapers from the date in 1969 when I put them all away. I'm actually having more fun though with these… -
