Re: It seems many auction houses are sending coins to IGC these day, how do the values compare and why a
Well let me tell you this. I don't care what anyone states about ICG being less of the other 2 Ngc and Pcgs. They are doing a fine job. I have had many coins taking more than 30 days on a 12 day submission. It's called early bird. But as some grades I get I disagree with I bought the coin of hoping my grading skills were… -
Re: South Korea 1950-1953 1000 won note - counterfeit or error?
Portrait of Syngman Rhee definitely looks problematic (like what happens when you make too many photocopies). Use a magnifying glass to inspect the microprint (all the pink background). There should be a design in all the fields of the note (where there is no green border/design/seals). If there is no microprint &… -
Re: Why is it assumed that a dealer should sell at market price?
There are many variables. If you need 3 eagles today, and can't wait for shipping, then you are at the mercy of the seller's asking price. If you are able to wait and negotiate, then why pay for their misfortune? It's not your fault they are taking a loss. And it may very well be a line they use to get more premiums, who… -

Re: Human hair inside a slab...

I have a leprechaun in one of my slabs.. That little sucker laughs at me everytime I take him out of the safe.. He writes his messages in smoke signals from his pipe.. His last message he wrote me said... George let me out of this worthless "ICG" coin slab. His next message came and it said.. You want more milk spots on… -
Re: What was the most important thing to come out of the Ask Me Anything session?
I've done 3 "guarantees". No. 1: Proof Kennedy 1968 purchased on ebay. Had a spot on it, but was graded PR69DCAM. Took MANY months, PCGS (HRH) agreed it wasn't right. I was contacted and quoted a price. It recouped my cost and I could purchase a replacement (all I was after) so I agreed. I was sent a check and the raw coin… -

"Please note the light spotting on the reverse of the coin in the 3 o'clock area. It can be seen in the close-up picture of the reverse below. On the rim of the coin at about the 8 o'clock area there is a tiny nick." ......Is the text from the sale! Would you want this coin with spotting? Even at $1300? Miles
