This just in... TexasNationals of the PCGS forum reports that ASEs might possibly milkspot. Also, TN believes that if you purchase 2011 25th or 2006 20th Anny sets for big money you are a fool. -

At least have the bullion for presale too. But hey, I'll take it when I can get it. My griffen is the only one that has a milkspot. The others are fine though -

If I were a hard core ASE collector, I'd buy them at these prices as long as there were NO milkspots. I do believe that the RP is now the second most expensive coin in the entire series. -

That’s so sad. I wish there was a slab insert that somehow protected the coin, like if it was impregnated with intercept shield technology. Only I don’t know if intercept would prevent milkspots or not. -

........more correctly the planchets weren't rinsed properly before striking. as a result, the residue is struck into the planchet which results in the milkspot. some are big and some are small, but all are essentially a part of the coin. al h. -

Isn't it the Type 1 that's the valuable one? Still, I guess that's good for a 69 DCAM Ike, if ain't milkspotted. I no longer collect moderns, but when I did, those Ikes were tough! -

Sucker play, IMHO. Why buy a kind of expensive coin when the population is very likely to go up? Still a great find in a mint order. What will happen when it milkspots? -

Re: The copper coin doctors fool the PCGS graders on occasion.
i can see a coin changing depending in its enviorment(not literally). take a 100 year old coin and place it somewhere else and it can change appearance. like milkspots appearing on ASE`s, stuff happens.
