Any clad Ike in pr69dcam is usually a bit pricey. The type 1 lists in the pcgs price guide at 225.00, the type 2 at 180.00. The guide is awfully inflated on proof Ikes, but $75 or $80 is not unusual for the type 2.
Yeah. I checked the priceguide to see what Ikes had done in the year or so since I abandoned moderns. I looked at the CAM price for your coin, not DCAM. You did make a nice score!
I certainly remember those 69 DCAMs being tough to get. I got my '76-S clad Type 1 at the 2002 FUN show, and it had about the same trend price as now. I asked the dealer if he'd accept a C-note for it, and he accepted. I was tickled to get a key Ike for my type set at less than half the trend price. Later resold it for a tidy profit.
I did great buying several PCGS PR70 DCAM clad moderns (a Washington for $50, a Kennedy ditto, and an SBA for $75) on Teletrade back five years ago. I quadrupled my money. To me, I was willing to buy the holder ('cause that's all the 70 game is), for up to a hundred bucks. That's my upper limit on a base metal coin struck during my lifetime.

philly joe , got your pm but for whatever reason I cant respond to pms this week. If you read this that was strange, I bid a max bid of 50.00 but my bid did not increase above the 36.00 that it sold for. I would think that at your bid mine would have went to my max.
I mentioned in a PM that it was a great price for that coin. When I saw it at $36 with 2 minutes to go I bid $50. Teletrade responded that someone else had already bid $50 and I had to increase my bid which I didn't. I'm also surprised that Teletrade didn't raise your bid but I guess mine really didn't register. Glad it went to a member at that price.

Still, I guess that's good for a 69 DCAM Ike, if ain't milkspotted. I no longer collect moderns, but when I did, those Ikes were tough!
