Re: >>> The Official SILVER 50th Kennedy Thread <<<
Opened one set. The uncirculated had a milk spot. So I opened my second set to replace the milk spotted one. Both enhanceds in the both sets had the brush like marks on the portrait, but no other marks. I think this is probably how the enhanced will look and it may be normal, unless other forum members do not see it at… -
Re: Hey Kennedy Guys - "Is this good?"
<< <i>You know after agreeing with Keets last night that they were Milk Spots, I thought perhaps that wasn't accurate...I'm not sure I've seen/had anyone specifically tell me "Those are milk spots." in hand...what I can tell you is "They are spots." >> Milk spots are not specifically reserved for SAE's. Your coin does… -
Re: 50c Proof experts, a question. Giveaway!
<< <i>What do you mean by "glue spot"? >> Sometimes when the proofs were sealed in the celo, the sealing process would extrude little globules, (for lack of a better word), on to the coin. That's why, when they happen, they're usually at the periphery. It's not really "glue" per se, just as milk spots aren't really "milk".… -
Re: I got a MS70 silver eagle, Big mistake☹️Watch out for white spots on silver eagles before buying
Disagree - sort of. It's a milk-spotted ANACS MS70 now. It will be a milk-spotted ANACS MS70 later. There's no such thing as an "MS70" price for these things. They are specific to the service (PCGS & NGC 70s aren't priced the same). And a milk-spotted PCGS 70 won't sell for the same as a PCGS 70 without milk spots. -
Re: First Strike Eagles coins more scam then not?
IMO scam. Even more so is the MS70 SAE prior to 2007. statement regarding new policy.. Therefore a flood of 2004 ASE should now qualify for the grade. The coins I have in ms 70 have no milk spotting at all. Good luck. Effective June 28, 2007, PCGS began grading Mint State Silver American Eagles for the years 2006 and 2007… -
Re: Buried or Not Buried?: That is the Question - PCGS PR70 DCAM 1995-W SAE Sells in Excess of $86,000
<< <i>The funny thing to me is this: Since milk spots are not covered under the PCGS guarantee anymore, the coin is literally one milk spot away from being an approximately $3k-$5k coin. >> Personally, I think that if spots have not developed by now, they just arent going to develop. Milk Spots DO NOT require a slab to… -

Re: Need some friendly advice on Silver Eagle Proof Set
Spent a couple of years in Okinawa from 69-71, mostly in Kue and Naha. It was during the VN war and things were pretty active there. We used to take the weekends and go to the caves on the north end and spend the time wading the tidal pools collecting shells, and hanging out/sleeping in the caves eating prawns and… -
