I used to have them back in the day from 1986-2007 and sold them all. Now, I won't build the set because I worry about milk spots down the road. -

No there is no way he stuff that roll in that other roll with out it looking like it was new. The paper roll will be all wrinkled and it's to long. They are all freshly dipped out frankies they will never get the milk spots off. -

Coins that went bad in the holders---putty showing up as a chalky residue, improperly rinsed dip causing a coin to discolor, red copper turning browm, milk spots developing on silver proofs, etc. -

Nice contrast on the reverse but not the obverse. I'd be more worried about the milk spots on the reverse. I theorize that it had obverse toning and was dipped in hopes of revealing a cameo obverse that matched the reverse. jmho -

So Josh, what exactly do you do before heading for the office? It would be best if you didn't complain to PGCS that your slabbed silver eagles were developing "milk spots" -

I don't see a mark on the jaw? Looks like a milk spot between the O and the D. It wouldn't affect the grade so much as the eye appeal. Even then, I don't think it's that awful. -

I was a lot of fun opening them, only 1 set has the deaded milk spots on them, the rest were clean!! James didn't mention the 50 odd 1963 sets with CAM/DCAM Frankies!!! -

The Swiss bars come up for auction occasionally on eBay, but not by US sellers. It looks as if Argor also has a "rinse problem" with their bars, quite a few have developed the notorious "milk spots." Great collection though. -

It seems that you need to dip moderns (especially proofs) in acetone or alcohol to stabilize them before you have them slabbed, to prevent the Mint-infested crap (i.e. milk spots) from showing up.
