      I've got all the rev. proofs that the mint ever issued..gold, plat & silver, and I've bee very fortunate, that none have ever milk spotted.

      It's known as milk spotting. It's caused by poor rinsing of the planchets at the mint, and it ain't coming off without sandpaper. That's one of the worst cases I've seen! Russ, NCNE

      Mine aren't milk spots or permanent stains but a little cloudiness. I don't think you want to use an acidic silver dip on proof silver eagles.

      After 40% of my 1986-2005 PCGS MS69 SAE set developed milk spots, it makes me wonder if air-tites offer better protection.

      Check it out. Be aware there are milk spots on front and reverse. This coin was relisted as original buyer backed out citing job loss.
