Re: Really cool Canadian toner at GC this week.
I think this is the wrong forum for your post but regardless, The 1971, 2 and 3 prestige sets were encased in a red flocked display case. The flocking seemed to have an effect on the nickel dollar that severely toned it. There are probably more toned dollars than those without toning. In 1974 the mint reverted to a black… -
2 pics, 2 questions - 21 Merc & 62 Frankie

I think I know the answers to my own questions here, but always worthwhile to ask the better informed if I may... Please & THANKS! 1) 21 Merc - Is this cleaned? 2) 62 Frankie - Any shot at a 65, AFTER a dip? I know it's a guess, but what the hey. I'm a week out from my plat membership expiring and want to take advantage of… -

WTB Spanish Gold Escudo's (1/2, 1, 2) 1700's
I am looking to buy several spanish Gold Escudo from the 1700's, possibly the early 1800's. Graded examples in VF20 or higher are preferred PCGS/NGC but raw problem free will certainly be considered as well. I am looking for half escudos, 1 and 2 escudo pieces as I think anything 4 escudo's or higher may be out of my price… -
My 2 newest error coins are going to get married... in a PCGS 2-coin slab

I haven't owned a mated pair for several years and I was looking to buy a nice set. When I saw this 1964 pair come up for sale I had to have them! Coin #1 is triple struck. The first strike is a broadstrike with obverse brockage. The second and third look like they are a saddle strike, and one mates up with coin #2 which… -
Re: American Buffalo 2026 One Ounce Gold Proof Coin
I've been collecting the proofs. The prices this year make me wish they did the 1/2 oz at least. I got the 1/2 oz in 2008, I think. I didnt get the reverse proof as 1) I didnt really have the funds, and 2) I didnt appreciate the finish until I saw a rev proof ASE in hand. Missed that boat I suppose. ... Also, they're doing… -
Re: Alternative to eBay?
I've had the same problem in the last year with missing USPS packages. I've also had several packages show up 2-3 months after shipment. I dont know whats going on with the USPS these days, but its not good. Its a huge reason why I decided to quit sending submissions to grading companies. Too afraid I wont get my… -

Vindication on my 1916-D 3-1/2 leg Buffalo
Back in January I promised to report the results of our host's decision, good or bad for me) on a 1916-D Buffalo that I believed was FS-901. Great Collections received the results today after a saga I've described in earlier posts. There were several doubters, (you may find yourselves in the original comments below), Okay,…
