Re: Crossing grading a GAI
Cubfan Hi, sorry for asking if you looked at the website because had you, you lol would have not asked for help. Anyway, it appears that you might be able too because: Chicago Sun Times 11/19/2010 11/21/2010 Donald E. Trueviews from a recent submission - feel free to GTG (buffalo nickel heavy)
These were received at PCGS on 11/21, "in process" on 12/12, and grades posted 12/29.. so still close to 20 business days from date of receipt. Some of the trueviews are a bit off, the 16-D buff isn't that dark and has a lot of red on it, I'll post a camera phone pic of it from when it was raw. (all these were raw when I… -

I just sent in three submissions today....
Being the frugal person that I am, I waited until the last minute to submit 3 different orders today in the same box - my 12 free submission for renewing my membership, 11 cards under the $6 tall boy special and 28 cards under the $5 72 to 92 special. Most of the cards are for my Marino habit, but I also submitted a nice… -
My February submission, one of my best yet (w/scans)
Sent in 20 cards on the February $8 1960s special (<$75 declared value per card). Had already submitted the best of my "big 5" (Aaron, Mays, Clemente, Mantle & Koufax) so this batch was the best of the rest of my 2nd tier '60s HOFers. Was very pleased, even though two came back unslabbed: 1960 Whitey Ford (evidence of… -
Re: Options and change ARE a good thing in this hobby
@Jacques_Loungecoque: enjoyed reading your post. This is turning into a great thread! Elsewhere, I posted as to why I collect slabs rather than raw (although I do have a handful of those) - it’s for my heirs (my grandkids). At this point, I have no way of knowing how much interest they will have, if any. But, there are… -

Re: Please post your Seated Liberty images.
Four more...all raw off eBay as were the coins above. 1942 Medium Date WB-8 (R3) EF40 - IMO, dipped and retoned. Well struck! It shows the wear of an EF45 or AU50. A CAC candidate. 1846 Tall Date WB-11 (R3) VF25. Looks VF30 to me - another CAC candidate 1840-(O) Reverse of 38 WB-4 (R3) VF20 - a common coin in high demand… -
Re: What % of the non-problem coins in your series are certified?
Robert, I'm fond of Indian $5's, and the number holdered is tiny. The 29 was obviously saved in rolls based on the quality of the holdered pops, and of the 662,000 minted, PCGS/NGC have holdered 441 pieces in all grades (only 34 pieces below MS60). I'm guessing a portion of those are resubmits and crossovers. Based on the…
