The 1979 set can be found with a mix of types, it is not considered to be a type 2 set unless ALL of the coins in the set are type 2. Some scammers have used that to their advantage calling any set that had at least some type 2 coins in it a type 2 set and then pricing them at the graysheet type 2 set level. -
Collecting Liberty Eagles ($10) - Type 2 or 3?
I notice that PCGS has 2 different sets listed in their Registry - Circulation Strikes (1838-1907) & Circulation Strikes (1866-1907). Questions: 1. Is this purely because Type 2 coins are harder to locate? 2. Can you think why they didn't create the set "Circulation Strikes (1838-1865)" i.e. just Type 2. I wonder if David… -
