I like watching auctions for foreign modern gold coins. They close, not surprisingly, at 15-20% back from spot to account for buyers premium. I agree! I started out like gang busters acquiring these 4 pretty quickly, although recently PR67 CAC’s have dried up for me. Still need the elusive 1936 and the 2 more common 1940 and 1941. Best of luck in your pursuit . Zack. -
1972-P- TYPE # 2, GRADES ARE IN.......
I just got my grades back from PCGS on the last four ( 4 ) Type # 2 Ikes, they are : 1972-P- TYPE # 2 : MS64 1972-P-TYPE # 2 : MS64 1972-P- TYPE # 2 : MS63 1972-P-TYPE # 2 : MS62 I was a bit disappointed, because one of the MS64 coins had a very good chance of being a MS65. Lima 1 Real 1753/2 overdate
I am curious about this Lima real which I picked up many years ago. An undertype is clearly visible under the "3" in the date which looks like a "2", possibly a result of a 1752 die being re-used in 1753. Gilboy does list an 1753/2 variety, so I think this is it. Pre 1857 U.S. legal Tender Gold
This coin, even though from a foreign mint was pre 1857 legal U.S. tender. A 1801 2 escudo coin from Spain. The NGC holder even has a special label. I think it’s fitting to post it on the U.S. forum. I traded my 1929 $2.5 Indian with an other coin because I think it is a way cooler peace of gold. Wanted to share, maybe… -
