Vivid examples of the type of premium that the GSA soft pack Morgan silver dollars can command are illustrated in two recent ebay coin auctions: 1. 1882-O/O - Claimed by the seller to be AU and VAM7 - PCGS retail for this coin is $90. Re: Great news for unopened pack collectors
What is your opinion of GAI (i.e., grading 70s packs)? I have maybe a couple of dozen 70s GAi wax, and for the most part, they look ok to me. You seem experienced in the "wax pack arena", do you not trust GAI graded packs? T~I~A rbd 1976 Topps Baseball # 1 Registry (Looking for # 51, 182, 308, 585 (Torre), 609 & 621 in PSA… -
Re: 1993 Refractor PSA 10s on eBay by the dozen
I've been fascinated with these auctions since jmb brought them up. I'm astounded at the prices people are willing to pay for cards. My eyes literally popped wide open as I watched the Van Slyke jump from $107 to $609 within seconds - he went for more than the Yount which was the next one to close. The seller will pull in… -
Re: Reputable dealers (ebay) and coin shops (ebay and other)
A couple others are Allen Berman (845) 434-6090 and Harlan Berk (312) 609-0017. A necessary reference for collecting early dated coins is Albert R. Frey's The Dated European Coinage Prior to 1501; Sanford J. Durst Numismatic Pubs. printed the 3rd Edn. back in 2000 and he's likely to have some available. I don't know his… -
Re: Not Again- Potential Trans. Gone Bad
I just spent $609 with this seller and everything went SMOOTHLY! I purchased a lot of 1967 Topps PSA graded cards which totalled $383 and sent him a check. He emailed me once the check arrived to let me know and also told me that he found another $226 in cards that I might be interested in. I told him that I would take… -

Re: $39,100 FOR AN 1858 SL FLYING EAGLE CENT
Stewart: Could you explain what you mean by it coming from a 12 piece pattern set?? The Eliasberg coin that resides in a east coast collection, lot #609, was described as possibly coming from "....part of an 1858 cent set at the mint." There is no mention of it coming from a 12 piece pattern set and it was a low-leaf… -
Re: What's it cost to buy a #1 rated registry set?
Whatever the SMR book value is on my #1 75 Topps Mini Set........ I for one would not sell it even if offered full SMR value. I have to much of my time invested in it and I have no desire to sell it. But if someone came along and made me an offer I couldn't refuse.......who knows? For the right price anything is for sale…
