Dealers: How is the market for high grade Morgans?

I am curious what you think the market is right now?

In general what would you pay for an 1885-cc PCGS MS67? I would think that would be a strong 10k coin to a dealer but I had a friend tell me he his coin to a NY dealer for $7500 and he seemed satisfied with that price. Seems really low to me.
I have plans....sometimes

$7500 sounds pretty fair. They have been bringing $7000-8000 at auction.

Unless someone who has to really have one market is really tough right now. This way beyond the affordability of most collectors and investors can be skittish about big ticket material.

I believe the 7500 offer was a realistic one.

The last 2 sold at Heritage with the magic little CAC sticker brought 13K and 14K. I wonder what the CAC haters have to say about that?

Retail and wholesale has a large spread, sometimes. As long as the seller and buyer are happy, that is what counts. To answer the question in general terms: "The market is alive and well for high grade Morgans"
