I would buy a island and make a private museum for myself and a select few to come visit. A super nice boat and fish and a sea-do. I would also add some nice wild animals to the mix. Then I would try and take control of the world...no on second tough I would just stick with nature and coins....and on good days rare comic books and movie posters. And what the hell I would try one of those space travel vacations.
I played golf tonight and didn't have a hole in 1. I did read that if I had bought a ticket on the way to the course, I would have had a better chance of having (not 1) but 2 holes in 1 than winning the lottery. BTW, in 30+ yrs of golf, mostly as a single digit handicap, I have never had a hole in 1. (my 11 yr old son has had 2). Maybe I'm not the luckiest guy in town. --Jerry

That's baloney. If you bought a ticket you have, however slim, more chance of winning than if you didn't. Don't win the jackpot? There are other smaller prizes that can be won.
News has reported there were no winning tickets sold in California. That includes all the tickets bought by residents of Southern Nevada who stood in line for five hours in Primm to buy tickets.

Exactly so. Most of us frivolously piss away every day more than the measly $1 it would take to buy one ticket. Go to a convenience store in the morning and watch someone buy a couple donuts, a canny bar, and a soda and or a coffee, plunk down a 10 spot and get almost no change back. Now tell me if they got value for their money. The idea is to play responsibly and not go overboard. I figger someone is gonna win it so that someone mite as swell be me.

The game isn't necessarily supposed to be "EASY" to win.
If the Philadelphia School District had played Mega Millions & been the sole winner & opted for the cash award, after taxes they just MIGHT have won enough to close their anticipated budget gap for next school year!!

winner says: "yeah...right." >>
BTW, the quote was tongue and cheek with regards to the people on this board, so do not take it too seriously.
Responsible adults who understand the risks, reality, and who can afford it are a totally different animal. That reality comes with a lot of financial and emotional baggage, and the change in lifestyle is not always a pleasant one. Having known several people who have come into money through winning poker tournaments, lotteries, and casino-related promotions, money does not always buy you happiness - it does not hurt though.
Well, the coins I would buy are easy: As many choice for the grade, kick-butt, Liberty Cap Half Cents as I could get my hands on!
Oh, I played ONE ticket: 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, and a gold number 42. Since each outcome is equally likely to occur, I picked numbers greater than 31 to avoid days of the month. If these had come out, my chances of not sharing the jackpot would have been pretty darn good.
I bought some tickets not expecting to win. It was fun dreaming about it knowing there was a chance. This morning I woke up to the news that one of the winning tickets was purchased in the same county. That added to the interest. Then later I heard it was sold at a different convenience store. I don't know if I won anything at all; I probably won't check the numbers for a week.

Maybe Pennsylvania can take some of their extra earnings from the high ticket sales volume and begin to properly fund the Philadelphia (and Chester) schools.

If you bought a soft drink today, you spent more money more foolishly than you would have on a lottery ticket.
Here's a coin I paid a dollar for.
