Just got this from a dealer in Munich. It's a Saurm. 1101, Schütz 310.51 Zweischildgroschen from Niederhessen, which is referred to sometimes as Hesse-Kassel (although not the same Hesse-Kassel as the later principality). The ruler was Ludwig II/III/IV (depending on which part of his demesne he was in), also known as "the Frank". I'm pleased with the coin, but would like others' thoughts.

It doesn't have any scratches, hairlines, or brushmarks that I can tell.

I should note, seller advertised as "s.s.", and I'm thinking that's probably right. Not sure if the general wear and tear would permit a "vz."

Oh, and it's obviously n.d., dating between 1458-1471.

Neat piece. I think the seller was probably accurate with ss; could be vz only if you are using US grading standards as the measuring stick. I've seen pieces with vz grades (by German dealers) which holder in NGC slabs at high AU if not MS.
