  I think you "might" be right. But I'll say, that is a pretty convincing fake. If the picture and resolution were smaller, I don't think anyone would notice it.

  are you 100% positive it is fake? The details on the coin look 100% genuine. I see how it has that casting look to it. It's difficult to accept that a fake could look this good.

  its fake look at the casting around the rim and the pitting in the cheeks i believe his $1 gold is fake aswell ...

  I'm just curious, if someone reports an auction and it gets taken down, but it turns out to be a genuine coin, what are the reparations for the seller? Would a civil suit be a possibility against the person that reports the auction?

  Maybe sending a message to the seller is the first thing to do........??........He has 100 percent feedback perhaps he does not know they are fakes..........just trying to give someone the benefit of doubt......IMO

  He does offer a return policy. It could be fake, but is not definitely fake.
  I would have to see the actual coin to make that determination.

  Not an expert here but couldn't you find some pitting due to planchet flaws or strike through?

  Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
